John Cena and Shawn Michaels def. Chris Jericho and Randy Orton

As his employer, JBL looked on silently, Shawn Michaels teamed up with the self-proclaimed “wrestling god’s” Royal Rumble opponent World Heavyweight Champion John Cena to take on the vicious team of Randy Orton & Chris Jericho. Earlier in the night, HBK had been encouraged by his boss to turn on The Champ, in an attempt to increase JBL’s chances of winning the World Heavyweight Title at Royal Rumble. Throughout the match, Shawn Michaels appeared conflicted, but in the end, it was his Sweet Chin Music that dropped both his opponents, allowing HBK to pin Jericho for the win.

As Cena & Michaels celebrated in the ring, HBK’s employer revealed in the locker room area that the two Superstars would be facing one another on the next Raw, with JBL installed in Shawn Michaels’ corner.

Layout (V7.5)

Posted on January 4, 2009 by Steven • Filed under: Site News30 Comments

I’m not exactly calling it a New Layout, due to the fact that it isn’t. Its a change to what we had; with Cena dropping his Santa Hat, and us going back to blue. Christmas is officially over, so we needed a change, and to keep up with the frosty weather, I thought a nice cool blue would be in order.

Hit Ctrl+F5 if you don’t see the changes.

Main Event: World Heavyweight Championship Match
Randy Orton v.s. John Cena
-big pops for the both of them, great match. Randy Orton got into an altercation with a fan during the match, not sure if the fan swung at him or spit at him, but security took the fan away, caused a huge scene during the match because he was fighting off security, took about 5 or 6 cops to bring him out of the arena. Craziest thing I’ve ever seen cuz the guy was nuts over Orton. Who knew that middle-aged men could get so stupid for something that ain’t real?.

Biggest Pops
1.John Cena
2. Randy Orton
3. HBK
4. Rey Mysterio
5. Matt Hardy

Biggest Heat

Note About Cena’s Impersonation on Raw

Posted on January 3, 2009 by Shaibani • Filed under: John Cena News1 Comment

From Rajah.com

– On last Monday’s Raw, John Cena actually wasn’t doing an impersonation of Harry Caray, but rather the Will Farrell Saturday Night Live sketch from several years ago when Farrell was imitating Carey, reports the Wrestling Observer. The E! Channel aired the 100 greatest moments on SNL over the weekend so likely someone on the creative team saw the show and used it as the idea for Raw.

5 Questions with the Staff

Chris Asks: John’s Merchandise is selling well, but do you think they could do more to help it sell better?

Arguably, I think they could do a lot more, but then again, due to constraints like the fact that John likes his merchandise to be different, there is only so much they can do. I love affliction type things, however, because John doesn’t like it, WWE does not do it. I like the fact that his designs (AWA Logo, 8-Bit) are simplistic and appeal to most age groups, and they really cover everything they can with those designs. An example would be how he has sweatbands, caps, t-shirts, long sleeve t-shirts, blankets and anything else they can cover, they do with the same design.

Lacey Asks: Does John know how to wash clothes?

Of course he does. :) However, like most Celebrities, he gets new clothes all the time. One, in which I love. The Avirex clothing.

Patricia Asks: Are John’s Grandparents still alive?

No, sadly their not. As he states in Right Now; “Grandma and Grandpa watching up above.” Hence, their in Heaven.

Theresa Asks: Does John travel by himself to events?

No. The WWE organize it so that all the Wrestlers travel on their bus (they have 21 in total, from what is known). Unless the worker can organize their own travel, then they travel with the WWE on Luxury buses and their trip is in a sense all paid for.

Daniel Asks: Do you see WWE ‘Pimping out’ the WHC?

It could happen. Although that is very doubtful at this time. The ECW Championship had a recent makeover, so perhaps this is the year that the WHC, maybe not. Vince is hesitant, because it has been said that they want to change the WWE belt from so called reliable news sites, however, its selling so well; they don’t want that. I’m not sure whether the WWE want another belt like the WWE one at the moment.

Now You CAN See Them

J-Cena.com brings you the layouts that missed 2008. (Click each corresponding thumbnail to view the preview).

The first layout, entitled “Champ” was a layout for when John became champion again. The layout was designed by Cristy of Daxter-Studios, but unfortunately we never got around to using it as John did not become the WWE Champion. This layout was purchased around the time when the site was still on Cutenews; thus the “Fansite” design to it. The designer messed up a little bit, however fixed her mistake, when she put on the preview J-Cena.Org, however it was later fixed and was ready to use, as stated though - John never became the WWE Champion.

The second layout was entitled “Get Well,” and was intended for the time when John Cena was injured at SummerSlam. It was meant to be a subsite where people could leave comments and read up on John’s past injuries and wish him well; however - we were convinced to just stick to the main site and get it to its best capabilities. The layout was again made by Cristy of Daxter-Studios, and its a shame we didn’t use this one.

The third layout rivaled Version 4 (the blue top), the one which saw us switch to Wordpress. It was entitled “Slide” as it had a slide design to it, and the images were changeable, a little like Version 5, without the text. This version was meant to go up, however; due to the fact that we had a design which could take us into Wordpress, we decided against it. The layout was made by Cristy again.

Nothing against Cristy, its just the fact that the layouts came up at bad times, and we couldn’t manage all the switches. So, please go ahead and leave us comments. There will be a layouts page put up shortly, where you will be able to preview all the past layouts. Anyway, please vote for which you think is the best, and leave us a comment.

John Cena the 5th Most Popular Celebrity

Posted on January 1, 2009 by Alisha • Filed under: John Cena News0 Comments

WWE World Hvt. champion John Cena’s celebrity status continues to increase, as he’s arguably approaching the cross-over “entertainment star” level previously enjoyed by the likes of Hulk Hogan, Steve Austin, and The Rock.

“Contact Any Celebrity,” which is a Hollywood research firm that tracks the most number of media, charity, or any other type of entertainment avenue requests of celebrities, said John Cena is the fifth most-sought-after celebrity in 2008.

Pop singer Miley Cyrus tops the list, followed by Disney-products the Jonas Brothers and Zac Efron. Cena is fifth, ahead of Britney Spears, Paris Hilton, and Angelina Jolie.

Cena’s commitment to the “Make a Wish” foundation was documented at WrestleMania 24 earlier this year, and he continues to be sought-after as the public face of WWE, speaking exactly what WWE chairman Vince McMahon wants him to say convey his vision of the WWE brand to a speculative outside world.

Crystal Ballin’ ‘09

Posted on January 1, 2009 by Katie • Filed under: WWE.com Exclusive3 Comments

From the Hardys both carrying championship gold, to impressive Superstar returns, amazing ring debuts and dazzling Divas, 2008 has been an incredibly exciting year at WWE. With the New Year knocking on their doors, WWE.com analyzes the past 12 months for several Superstars, and what they can do to make ‘09 their best year ever. If you want to chime in with your opinions on this subject, or simply make your own “Crystal Ballin’” predictions, feel free to do so in the Forums of WWE’s online social network, WWE Universe.

High spots: After sustaining a torn pectoral injury, Cena made an unexpected, and victorious, return to the ring at the Royal Rumble last January. To bookend his astounding year, The Champ made a second triumphant return in November when he overcame neck surgery to capture the elusive World Heavyweight Championship for the first time from Chris Jericho at Survivor Series.

Low blows: While Cena basked in his glories, 2008 proved that even a seemingly impervious Superstar could be felled by injuries. For much of the year, the man whose love of wrestling is well documented was forced to watch from the sidelines as he recouped from career-threatening surgery.

Crystal ballin’: For Cena, priority one is staying healthy. If The Champ can manage to stay out of the operating room and in the ring, there’s no telling just how long his World Heavyweight Championship title reign will be.
